This necklace features a tiny flock of silver birds flying across a piece of mirrored perspex set within a circular silver pendant. The perspex has been engraved with an intricate cloud pattern. Each bird is handmade from silver sheet and is carefully secured through the perspex to give the impression of a flock in flight. The design for these necklaces was inspired by the starlings that gather above the reeds in amazing murmurations close to my workshop and studio in the winter months.

There are a number of options that you can choose:

• First choose the side you would like your starlings to flock, left or right.

The sterling silver housing (which is 19mm in diameter) into which the mirrored perspex is set has been oxidised (darkened). The handmade silver starlings have also been treated in the same way so that they represent the tone of the starling’s feathers.
