These handmade statement earrings feature a sparkling piece of sky-blue mirrored perspex engraved with a cloud pattern. The perspex was cut by hand and then polished over many hours so that the edge glows with a pure luminosity.

A flock of tiny sterling silver starlings have been carefully riveted through the blue perspex sky. The silver has been darkened by oxidising it so the colour more closely resembles the colour of the starling’s feathers.

The earrings have a sterling silver back to them which has also been engraved with an intricate cloud pattern.

The earrings hang from hand-formed sterling silver ear wires and create a drop of 6.5cm. The ‘cloud’ is 2cm at its widest point.

The use of perspex makes these statement earrings lightweight and incredibly easy to wear. Each earring only weighs 9 grams.

These earrings are from the ‘Murmuring Flock’ collection which was inspired by the flocks of starlings that fly close to my workshop here in East Yorkshire.

Care Instructions:
A soft cloth / light sable brush can be used to gently remove dust and finger marks from the perspex. Do not use any silver cleaning products on the oxidised silver as this will remove the patination.
